What is the role of astrology?

Scientists who are hardened will tell you it does not work. People who believe in it will tell you that it works. Who is the right one? Both are right. It all depends on the meaning you want to convey by "work." Astrology is the concept that alignment between the stars and planets influences every person's mood and personality as well as the surrounding, dependent on the date the person was born.

Astrologers publish horoscopes in newspapers customized according to the date of birth. The horoscopes offer predictions about people's lives, explain their personalities, and offer the best advice depending on the location of the astronomical bodies. A study by the National Science Foundation found that 41% of people consider astrology to be "very scientific" or "sort of scientific." Let's break down the original question into two different and more specific questions

1)) How does the location of astronomical objects affect how a person lives?

2) Can horoscopes make people feel better? These two questions are very different. Both can be analyzed by scientific research.

Do the positions of celestial bodies impact the quality of life of a person (beyond simple weather)?

No. The orientation and position of the sun's rays relative to the Earth cause seasons. Anyone who has had to shovel snow off their walks in January, when he prefers to be on the beach, can confirm that the astronomical bodies certainly influence our lives. Solar flares can cause electromagnetic disturbances to Earth that can affect satellites and cause blackouts. The moon's position can cause ocean tides. If you're a fisherman and are a professional, the moon's location may affect your business's livelihood. The solar winds cause beautiful aurora, and the sunlight is the primary power source for the planet.

These impacts are part of weather basics, not the realm of astrology. Astrology claims that astronomical bodies affect people's lives that go beyond the basic weather patterns based on their birth date. This assertion is based on a false scientific basis. Numerous scientific studies have proved that astronomical bodies influence people's lives based on their birth dates. For example, Peter Hartmann and his co-workers studied more than 4000 people and found no link between birth date and intelligence, personality, or personality. In one of the more well-known research studies, Shawn Carlson had 28 Astrologers predict their future and examined how accurate their forecasts were.

Before experimenting, he refined the procedure so that a variety of independent scientists believed that the method was scientifically valid and that all the astrologers thought that the testing was fair. In the journal Nature, He discovered that astrologers be no more accurate in predicting the near future than chance. These findings are in line with basic scientific research.

In essence, there are four forces in nature: electromagnetism, gravity, solid nuclear force, and weak nuclear energy. If an object has the power to affect an individual, it can do so through one of these forces. For example, strong acid can cause skin burns because the electromagnetic fields that make up the acid exert a strong pull on your skin's molecules, which causes them to break. A falling rock can crush you as gravity pulls it into you. Nuclear bombs can destroy you due to atomic forces. The fundamental forces are mighty. The issue is that all of them end up dying when distant. The nuclear forces disappear in such a short time that they're zero after the range of a few nanometers.

Electromagnetic forces usually extend in the field of nanometers up to kilometers. Sensors can discern electromagnetic signals (light) that originate from the outermost reaches of the visible universe; however, the light detected is highly fragile. The gravitational force of a star is technical across the galaxy. However, its impact on the universe doesn't extend far beyond its solar system due to the effects of distance that the gravitational pull exerted by Polaris on a human anchored to Earth is less than the gravity of a gnat flying around his head. Similar to the electrical waves (light) that reach the eyes of an earthbound human from Sirius is less intense than the light of the firefly that is flitting around. If the planets and stars affected us similarly, then gnats and fireflies would have more effect. Even if the gravitational force of the worlds were strong enough to influence your life, an alignment of the planets would not allow you to win the lottery, for the reason that an actual earth-planet alignment rarely is ever seen in the real world.

Can horoscopes make people feel better?

Yes. However, it doesn't have anything to do with being related to the horoscopes being accurate. Horoscopes can make people feel better due to a psychological effect called"the placebo effect. The placebo effect happens when believing in an untrue method helps a person feel better. It is the belief and not the technique that causes the change. The effect of a placebo is scientifically proven. If you offer tablets to ten sick patients with only water in them, explain to them that it's a highly potent new drug that can benefit patients. After that, make sure that ten patients with illnesses refuse to take the pills after a while; those taking the medications will be in more excellent health.

Due to that placebo effect, any new drug cannot be proven to help patients feel better. It has to be demonstrated to be more effective than a placebo. In medically accurate experiments, the control group isn't an untreated group of patients. Instead, the control group comprises patients who have received a placebo. It is said that the placebo effect plays a role in the principle working behind the science of astrology.

A lot of people believe in the science of astrology. If they look up their horoscope and adhere to the advice of their horoscope, it makes them feel better. But it's the belief in itself, not the astrology itself, creating a positive feeling—numerous pseudo-scientific remedies such as crystal healing and homeopathy aid people by utilizing this placebo effect. Believing in a method that doesn't work could be helpful; however, trusting a treatment that does something is more effective. Staying with proven therapies can give you the benefits of your belief and the benefits of the treatment's results. For instance, instead of studying your horoscope in the morning, take an exercise. Exercise has been proven to benefit your body and mind, and your faith that it is helpful will aid you.
